Communications Department: A Year of Growth and Engagement

The 2024 year has been a dynamic and rewarding one for the newly-formed Communications Department at WCDSB. Starting off with the development of fresh branding guidelines, the department created a cohesive and streamlined visual identity for the Board. To support this transition, training sessions were organized to equip staff with skills in crafting accessible, WCDSB-branded images, posts, and documents.

Following the successful branding launch, the Communications team focused on refreshing the WCDSB website to enhance its look and usability. Plans are underway to conduct a comprehensive page-by-page audit, ensuring the site remains user-friendly, relevant, and up to date.

In addition to these foundational projects, the team also spent time visiting schools, capturing and sharing the vibrant, inspiring initiatives taking place across WCDSB communities. The launch of The Student Voice invited secondary students to submit stories about their school experiences, providing a unique platform for student perspectives shared with both the online community and Newswire subscribers.

Looking ahead, the Communications Department remains dedicated to showcasing all that makes the WCDSB community remarkable and will continue to bring forward the stories that reflect its spirit and innovation.
