Music
- Students at St. Aloysius School had the chance to explore drumming with Djembes.
- Many schools provided extracurricular music opportunities for Grades 4-8, with St. Luke’s choir notably earning a top 10 spot in Ontario!
Dance
- Folk Dancing Festival: In May 2024, the Folk Dance Festival saw an impressive turnout, with 1,600 students participating—surpassing the usual 1,200.
- St. John once again showcased its Primary Dance extracurricular team, performing a special show for families and the school community in December 2023.

Secondary
Masterpieces on Display: Student Artists Shine at Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers’ Association Conference
Students from several schools created stunning paintings for the Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers’ Association (OCSOA) Conference. Individual artists were able to keep their artwork after the event, while group-created pieces are now proudly displayed in their schools. To commemorate their contributions, all artists received a certificate featuring an image of their painting.
Arts Gala: Igniting and Celebrating Creativity
On April 12, 2024, all WCDSB secondary schools came together for the Arts Gala: Igniting and Celebrating Creativity. Students had the opportunity to showcase what they had been learning throughout the year. Bands performed, choirs sang, drama classes presented live performances, and visual artists’ works were featured in a slideshow.
Taking the Stage: Student Productions Bring Theatre to Life
This year, all our secondary schools showcased their students’ talents through various productions. St. David’s presented Celtics on Broadway, while Monsignor Doyle performed A Call Came in, in November.
